Dr. Tahir Yaqub

Just in few words:

Personal Drones is a registered business name in Australia. Personal Drones website has two components, a blog to exchange the knowledge between the community and an affiliate online store to pay the bills.

Personal Drones- The Idea behind:

The pace of change in drone industry is rapid. Companies are flooding the market with countless numbers of drones taking advantage of the fact that currently, no manufacturing standards exist for these flying robots. From toy drones to commercial drones, there are hundreds of options available to chose from. The consumer, on the other hand, has no education whatsoever. They have no idea what drones are capable of and what are regulations about drones and what kind of drone they should buy. Some are just interested in buying a drone for their child while many others can see a lot of business opportunities but have no clue where to start with. This is the reason behind the development of this website to get ourselves educated and keep abreast with the latest technologies and trends in the drone industry.

My story:

My name is Tahir Yaqub and I am into web development since 1996 as a teacher, a student, and an enthusiast. During the last twenty years, my passion for learning new web-based technologies and web development tools just kept on increasing. I learned a lot of tips and tricks over the years, got Java certification from Sun Microsystems, Inc, have taught C/C++ and Fortran languages in various institutes and helped people put them in practice. In 2004, I developed another interest in the field of robotics and started my research. After completing my Ph.D. in the field of Robotics from the University of New South Wales, Sydney in 2008, I was looking for a way to pursue both of my interests but was doing a 9 to 5 job.

My blogging journey started first in 2007 when I was about to finish my Ph.D. thesis. I started a blog with the name TutorCorner.com (which I no longer own!). Later, after finishing my studies, I worked in UK, Pakistan, and Australia for few years. During these years of 9 to 5 job, my passion for online technologies, tools and writing just kept rising.

But in 2017, I finally decided to fire my boss and made an investment of about 100 dollars to start personal drones. I got my drone pilot license from CASA in early 2017. I am fascinated with online tools and technologies. I want to use them all, but I don’t have money and even time for that, and also probably I don’t need them all. We are so fortunate to have such fantastic tools at our disposal. I always strive to find the best in every single field of life. The best blog, the best post, the best tool and the list goes on and on. I love the power of words and how to use them to your advantage. Online success is really a game of words, we call them keywords.  I also, like the challenge of understanding how Google works, so in a way, Google is my new boss which dictates me how to work (without a salary!). When I see my article on the first page of Google with a little domain authority, of my less than a year-old blog, I celebrate it by writing another one, a better one.

Now I have pre-launched another website developed as a global online drone directory website for drone pilots and businesses offering drone services across the world. This website is in pre-launch stage at the moment.
